Pedestrian Activity
How many people walk past?
Toronto's own measured pedestrian counts at nearby intersections (Toronto only), plus an index of walking conditions that works anywhere in the world.
Where it works
The measured counts are the City of Toronto's, so they cover Toronto only. The walking-conditions index works for any address; it counts residents from the 2021 Census, which covers Ontario, and is scored without them elsewhere.
How it works
We list the City's intersection counts within 800 m of the site and lead with the nearest recent count within 400 m, preferring the site's own street. Each count is shown as people an hour over the City's standard count hours, with how it ranks against other counted intersections and how it compares with 2015 to 2019. The index scores shops and services, transit stops, street connections and residents within 800 m against Yonge Street and Dundas Street, which scores 95. It is an index of walking conditions, not a count.
